zbrush cylindrical alpha projection?

Hi I was wondering if is possible and incase wich tool is it , to project an alpha around a circular shape like a tube , so let's say I have an alpha I drag around onmy model if I can wrap it around the whole mesh?

Transform > activate symmetry > (R)

thats radial symmetry. radial count will push up the amount of times it repeats along the cylinder.

Also if you're trying to do this on a tool with multiple subtools and not a single subtool you'll have to turn on Local Symmetry (L SYM) button.

No I have tried that the thing is a curved shape and like a ( so the symetry is not like a cylinder...

For more complex shapes you could upwrap it, and load a texture to act as the mask/alpha/

The new Noisemaker plugin also has a similar feature built in.

Ok I tried that but didn't work as I expected , I mean I need to drag drop different kind of alphas around a weird banana like shaped object and have it wrapped around the thing ortogonally , so that I can deploy several alphas in sequence all wrapping around it , but when I drop it the alpha goes fine on the frontal view but it either fades away at the border curvature or gets messy .....

any idea how to make the thing wrap around betteR?

I think the texture mask + inflate method is still going to give you the best results. This way you can load the alphas in photoshop, position them exactly where you need them, and then preview the result.

Otherwise you may have to break the alpha pattern into smaller peices and drag them on as a mask with radial symmetry. This way you can edit the mask to paint in any connects / fix any errors, and then inflate.
