Great character work, very beautiful, I skipped the first part to get to the character, personally I would've had that first in the reel. Also some texture sheets would be useful for recruiters. Not too keen on the VFS reel format with the credits, I skipped that too ^^
the charakter looks realy nice man, but you need to put more attention to the environment lighting and textures that you are showing:) good job so far m8
Great stuff, some really great modelling and texturing here. Only criticism I can find is that the hair seems a little flat in the stills; virtually no specularity. In the video also, the highlights run vertical, when hair usually has horizontal highlights (due to strand direction).
Another great piece coming from Vancouver Film School.
Some critics to help.
You'll need to put some texture sheets and wireframes(screenshots).
I also think you used a white specular for the skin of the character? It might reflect more realistic if you use the inverse color of the diffuse (which mean, blue). In case, white specular will have a little over saturation. If you use the inverse color as the diffuse, it will reflect white. Don't remember where I found a tutorial on that but this might help : http://pioroberson.com/tuts/tut_texturing_tricks.htm
