Grouping in udk and instancing

Hello all,
Its come to a point in a project where i need to start having mass amounts of certain objects... for example a bookcase in a liberary.
Would the best way to do this be importing one book case making an instance of it create for an example a row of bookcases then grouping them and then duplicate the group and keep doing that until the required amount?
Is this the fastest way?
Thanks in advance for any response i am going to test the method on the weekend but wanted to know if anyone knew the best way
