3D Motive Tutorials

Hey I was wondering if anyone knew if the 3dmotive tutorials were any good.

I was planning on getting these tutorials.

1.Sci-fi Modular Floor Workflow

2. Modular Building Workflow

3.Advanced Mesh Paint with UDK

4. Creating Terrain with UDK

I trust the opinions and feedback from the people at Polycount and thanks for the help :poly121:

Well I just bought the modular asset tutorial. I liked it and learned a lot of new tips/tricks. The only thing is that I would like to have seen is some ways of making domes and other objects that are able to snap to the grid.

Eat3d and 3Dmotive quickly grew as my go-to place for tuts, way better than those overrated gnomon dvd's that take themselves way too seriously.

take themselves too seriously??? I think that is actually why I like them, because they are proffesional...anyways I find gnomon awesome material to learn (the ones I've seen at least), in any case gnomon's are done by several different artists, so saying that is a bit biased in my opinion. I haven't seen 3dmotive but they look pretty good too. As for Eat3d, they have awesome content!

just a reminder that the "Sci-fi Modular Floor Workflow" isn't a how to create this piece of floor it's included and not part of the workflow you need to know how to already create an awesome modular sci fi floor...the workflow is for the texturing I got on em when I bought it thinking it was a 'workflow' from start to finish but it's already modeled/uv'd should be relabeled texture workflow but they explain it alot better now on their site.

Modular Building workflow is worth it-period-

When it comes down to it. Its a $15 high quality tutorial.

From the ones I've bought from 'em and actually had time to watch. They're worth it and I don't regret the purchases at all. :poly136:

I am about to buy the Modular Building Workflow tutorial! But I have to wait until after chirstmas...

I think it's totally worth it, I think I know how it was made, but I want to learn every detail.

If I like this tutorial I might buy the terrain one as well.

Regarding the terrain tutorial, I'm sure it'll still be very insightful. I haven't heard much about this new change in the terrain-building system, but I seriously doubt it would change much to nullify the whole video.

Eat3D and 3DMotive are the places to be for learning about game-art, highly recommend them!

I have only watched the free tuts so far, but I have heard that they are really quite good. Great techniques that are well taught/ explained by industry professionals who all work on current game titles as their day job.
