3d max - baking normal map

Helou, I need your little help. I'm beginner in baking so please forgive me;>
I just want to display properly normal maps in 3d max. I'm making some test and all the time I see object with smoothing group.
I do such stages:
1. object low poly (assigning 1 smoothing group for the whole object)
2. high poly
3. baking normal map

Everything is ok till this time, but when I assgn normal map to low poly it still wrong displays in 3d max

What do I do wrong? :/

    Gerbeiter,

For testing out baking on a simple cube try this:

    1. Remove smoothing from all polygons (no smoothing groups)
    2. If this is a perfect cube, there is something wrong with your UVs. The two shells on the right hand side are smaller than the other four. make them all the same size. In your unwrap modifier, select polygon, then use quick plane with normalize turned OFF. Once you've unwrapped all polys, arrange them and scale them down to fit in your 0,1 space.

Also, could you post a shot of your RTT settings?

When I was learning how to normal map, I used this tutorial http://www.game-artist.net/forums/spotlight-articles/43-tutorial-introduction-normal-mapping.html. It's a great primer on normal mapping and it helped me out tremendously.
