Hey, I think the biggest problem is the way your presenting stuff.
Theres a lot of wasted space around the top and bottom of each image, especially the musket-type gun at the bottom of the page, I'd also ditch the reflections and lens flares people want to simply see the models so I wouldn't worry too much about dressing up the image.
If you want to show specific sections of a model off, thumbnails are a great way of doing that, running along in a banner underneath the image you can show certain sections with more clarity and you don't have to worry too much about fitting in a model which leaves you with a lot of empty space.
