Not any "improvements" concerning the svn-server support right. I hope this will be improved in the near future though, but I guess Unity wants people to use the asset server instead of svn.
Edit: If you have problems with the internet registration, just try again till you get through, i guess they are busy. It would also give me an error when going for the free version so i just got the 30 day trial instead.
I love it! I played around with Unity a little the last time they updated it. I got the asset importing working, as well as a little basic scripting. (using C#) It's a great development platform for the slightly more technically minded.
I'm currently working on porting Flixel to C#, so I haven't had time to play with Unity more in-depth. I would especially like to come to grips with Unity's standard implementation of object scripting. I've gotten a lot of practice with Monodevelop recently, so I'd love to see how the new integration with Monodevelop works with Unity. (definitely a feature I'm looking forward to) Once I've got the 3.0 Unity update installed, I'll play around with their animation example. I've been wanting to try producing a short music video using Unity.
We've been using it for Warsoup for a couple of days now. It's a really great update, there are some issues when you're converting from 2.6 (shaders, rendering pipeline changed), but all in all it's really damn good.
Controls: WSAD for Movement, Space = Jump, Shift = Dash, 1, 2, 3 = Weapons, R = Reload, ALT + Enter = Fullscreen
NOTE: This is a super early devbuild. Our shader isn't properly working yet, there are no light bakes, the geo is rough, etc. and it's very unoptimized. So try it in a clean browser window (Firefox / Chrome preferably) if you've got a good machine.
Unity is a good engine. Drives us nuts a lot of times, but all in all, it's easier to get shit done than in any other engine I've used.
what are you guys using for the HUD? Is it Unity's standard 2d GUI interface?
Because at work we found out that it pretty much sucks, since it draws every little object individually and the draw calls add up like crazy. We are currently using EZ GUI, in which every hud element is 3d and is way faster that unity's standard. Did you guys ran into this kind of trouble, and did you find any other solution for it?
I dunno, Henry is implemeting all that and he's our optimization Nazi. It's 3d planes though. The HUD in that version is very rough, we just started making it resolution independent and still have to re-adjust it because we're just starting implementing splitscreen (can't wait to get the actual gameplay and techTree in there and play it against my bros ).
You mean "Dungeon Legend"? Yeah we are still working hard on it using Unity 3 since the beta was out. We are currently looking for a texture artist for monsters/characters. Know of anyone?
Well, turns out Kaspersky Antivirus interferes with Unity, not only do you have to disable it but you have to completely uninstall Kaspersky. I'm sick of Kaspersky causing issues, it continually thinks Crazybump is a virus, so I uninstalled and went back to AVG, works like a charm now.

I know the pro version has it.

The Bootcamp web demo is pretty awesome.
I'm stoked for this...a lot of nice new upgrades. Looking forward to going home and playing with it.

love the ammo counter on the guns btw!
Standalone build. No Lightmaps, No proper lighting, no GI Bakes yet, but should work much better than the webBuild.
thats crazy cool!
Im planing to get some work done on my Daxter project again..got toooons of animations, but need to script it into gameplay somehow!
you guys need animators?! :poly136:
seeing a lot of still characters all over! hehe
Are you guys still working on that thingie you showed me back then? Already ported to Unity 3?
Thomas P.
Finally got our shaders working again. Beast also seems to be pretty cool. Should have the map + light bakes done by this weekend, w00t!
Looks quite good!
Avast is a good alternative too.
It already seems to have Android in the Pro version. Aswell as Xbox360, PS3 and Wii :poly124:
might want to read the website again there bro
