2d bone animation?

For the android game i'm working on i'd like to use 2d bone animation for the monsters like in this game

u mean like dropping textures on quads and use bones? hmmm...

you can also do that really 2d by rotating and moving sprites
theres nothing special about 2d skeletal animation^^

Yeah, boned quads work fine; Mika Mobile uses that approach for their iPhone games. A lot of 2D animation packages have skeletal animation as well, some with support for IK and whatnot. Flash and Anime Studio are just two of the numerous packages I've seen that have skeletal animation support built in.

wow lotekk that's impressive for just boned quads, gonna look for some tutorials on that workflow. Using anime studio right now, its probably good enough for what i'm doing.
