Yeah, it's intentional. I keep hearing different opinions on this but I think that I agree most with Jeff Gerstman's views that this makes the action of headshots even more raw and fits the video compression motif.
intentional and I love it! I really enjoy the whole raw footage vibe they've got going and think it works tremendously well. Very psyched for this game (loved 1st kane&lynch, even with al its flaws.)
The controls are not meant for PC at all. Which means I will have to use a controller or get the console version...
I liked the first one for what it was, and didn't get past the first 3 minutes. So I want to buy it again. This one seems like a must buy... but not right now .
I am glad the censored bits are part of the style and not because of where I live.
after i see kane and lynch id start to think somehow the censored thing look better than
flat polygon with flat bloody red fluid animated texture. .. really.
but hopefully it wont overused by other title in the future
Deadspace controls are fine as long as you disable v-sync and don't mind using the standard keybinds. Whats wrong with RE5 controls?
Yeah, I used the v-sync trick but still, you'd think they would've cared to fix something so simple. As for RE5 I've only played it for like half an hour but it was enough to see how broken it was. I can't even point to a specific reason, it just doesn't work like it should, feels clunky and unresponsive as hell.

going to have to try that. controls are the whole reason I only played deadspace for like an hour and then quit hoping to snag up a console copy eventually.
A programmer friend of mine worked on this game, he told me that the engine was very outdated but they didnt really have time to improve it, he told me it barely supported normal maps (its the old hitman engine). So they thought of a way to mask up the graphical limitations of the engine and that is why the entire game is made in this 'camcorder' style Its BRILLIANT!
Heh, the same Jeff Gerstman that was allegedly fired by Gamespot due to the harsh review on the first Kane & Lynch. Glad he went on to create GiantBomb, at least there they can speak out without advertiser pressure.
I played the demo, seemed really standard "run around & shoot badguys" gameplay. Like it could be fun for a few hours of coop, but not much more. There are games that just do the same thing a lot better (Army Of Two)
Im really on the fence about this one, apparently its only like 4 hours long for the singleplayer. But having played the multiplayer in the demo with my friend it was a really refreshing blast to play. stealing money and then becoming a rat snake and turning on your team.
the demo gave me a few hours of solid fun. but i hear there are only 6 maps and all the modes re-use them all, im thinking this might be a rental, then purchase once its not 60 bucks.
All their games have flaws, but I really enjoy the new spin IO interactive seems to put on things, hell ive got the damn hitman logo tatooed on my arm haha. cant wait for hitman 5.....
Yeah, Hitman DOES need to be out already... The latest Splinter Cell was fantastic but nothing beats piano wiring some cleaner, dumping his body in a dumpster and then breaking into a kids birthday party...
Hitman's great, I just don't like that it's highly scripted trial and error gameplay leads less toward you feeling like a Hitman and more like an omnipotent Dr. Manhattan-esque being that exists constantly in the past present and future who is always choosing to kill the garbage man so he can sneak behind the house unnoticed.

really easily if you do a crappy console port.
Oh so true, specially RE5, I found it outright unplayable.

So, Jeff Gerstman of Giantbomb formerly of Gamespot did his review on this game.
It sounds like a fun rental but not a good buy.
