Polypack Server Party

Just an idea I was thinking of,if this has a lot of positive feedbacki think we could all work together to make this happen.

Basically all of us who participated (I diddnt,but I did provide advice and this idea!)will go to a server (you don't have to go but if you want to,great!)and play some tf2 to celebrate the release of the pack!anyone can come if they contributed to the pack,even if they diddnt win,as long as they worked on a pack or helped/commented on the packs.

All i'd like to know if this is a good idea to you guys,well....is it?

it's not a bad idea, you just gotta give it more than 30 min before you write it off.

I may no be able to join the server, but maybe include weapon skins for everyone on that map

and perhaps it will randomly switch through different skins so everyone gets to be looked at.

Ok!let's try and plan this.

Well I'm not on a computer yet.my laptops charger is backordered to my grandparents house,so ill see what I can do from here,but does any of you know how many people will win and when will this be released?cause I think we should have it the day,day after,or after that to play.

My vision of the party:
-custom maps (good ones like etf_hunted)
-a skin switching system that allows people to use everyones submissions that diddnt make it in.
-possibly to go with the system,make it so each skin has stats the creator requested and make it so other people can see you use them.
-finally,before we play,sandvich whiskey and bonk party.with dispencers.

thanks! and once again, even though Im not in the constest, this would be a good way to give out those contest pins too (ADAM) considering only entrants would be allowed right?

How should we do the party?
-submitters only?
-polycount members only?

Yeah, submitters only would be best, i would love to join and just party it out when the day comes and after the deadline we still have 2 weeks to find coders to make skin switching plugins and stuff. But theres also issue of where the server will be hosted. People from all over the world are entering. Would need a poll to see where majority of submitters are, east coast, west coast, russia and europe. Then decide where to host the server.

There's currently a Polycount server running at 173.203.57.22:27015. I'm pretty sure it's hosted in the Midwest US.

i cant imagine it'd be far off from the winners being anounced what with the items being in game the whole point of the contest

to delay it would be to delay the "prize" for the winners

But they'd also delay the "content" for the people who weren't in the competition, which is what valve likes to do.

Either way, we'll see when the time comes.

Hm. Server party sounds cool. If I could only set up my computer right for hosting...Meh, you might want to ask big hosters like spiral gaming, theyre pretty cool, hell gamers. I think im banned from hals playground. Dont know what i did. Said griefing but i didnt do that. Oh welll, they suck, not me.

its a great idea, it might be better off being organized by the polycount steam group, on the polycount server.

I like the idea, but I think it should only be available to people who participated, like my room mate. I don't get why the guy who started this whole post thing didn't even submit or even try to enter this contest. And even worse he thinks he SHOULD come just because he gave suggestions?! Thats like saying I should win the contest even though I didn't submit any work.
