I disagree, blenderhead. posts like this are awesome. people getting jobs is great news, and they usually aren't on the front page all too long anyway. I say keep it on the gd.

Thanks for quoting Bette Midler, people don't do that enough. Pity her infinite wisdom doesn't extend to this situation, because in any one of the 20 job threads (or freelance gig now lol), there's 3 pages of asinine andPOINTLESS congratscongratscongratscongratscongratscongrats comments from 60 people, so really you are incorrect in using that quote. How many of those self-flagellating quotes you got by the way?
because your being an asshole.
People work their asses off to get jobs doing what we do. And the 3 pages of asinine and pointless congrats are a way of people saying we know how fucking hard it can be to get a job, and we RESPECT that.
Good one on you Rex...my first couple of gigs were freelance stuff...the xp helped me land a gig at a studio....good luck with it
edit: just checked out your portfolio some cool cryengine stuff

I think we have different definitions of 'asshole' You did make me tear up though. I think we may actually do the most important and noble job in the world. Thank you odor...somehow, I had never stopped to think about it.
Now explain to me why all this fist-pumping can't be done in a single thread instead of twenty...I think you forgot to cover that. As has anyone else, actually.
Thanks everyone, it means a lot. Here I've been doing this stuff as a hobby for the last couple of years, and never even thought that what I had been doing could develop into a possible career path.
Now, out of the blue, without even contacting anyone - I get an email about a freelance gig that is right up my alley out of the blue, because someone wants to pay me for something I've done for fun. Not only that, but something I've taught myself how to do. They could've picked others who are more established in the industry, but they picked me.

Yeah, in one sticky. Not 20 threads.
Explain to me how it wasn't.

Good stuff dude, congrats
@Blenderhead: If you find these kinds of threads so offensive, then don't click on them; no one is forcing you to read them.
