CGSculpt: Boss Battle

Hey all, figured I'd plug this here. This new 3d sculpting forum is running a contest and I think alot of people here might be interested. Top 2 prizes are a copy of zbrush and a free 3d print from Protodemon (those guys seem to be doing some of the best quality prints from what I've seen!) Contest starts on June 15th.

Yeah been a member over there since Jason pretty much started it. Haven't posted too much but I know the guys there are super talented and it's awesome Jason got this up and running.

uh..Its a sponsership from Pixologic to provide you with a free copy of Zbrush. Thats what "reserve a seat" means. I think

Def excited for this one! You would be surprised of the amount of detail that comes out in Protos prints! The 12inche one on my desk is unreal!

If I find time for doodles, I will most certainly sculpt something out here. anything to get a print of your own work for free!

edit: egads! 3 months for a sculpt?!?!?!?!?!?!?! oh, alright, count me in..... well, let me see these restrictions of yours, then we'll talk apples and potato sticks.

Nah, a license is a "seat." If you have 4 people using ZB in your company for example, you might need to buy 4 "seats" to account for that. At least that's how I understand it. Contest sounds sweet though, definitely want to participate in this.

woot, wasnt expecting the rules untill tomorrow. I do like the rule "Your final sculpture and pedestal combined must be under 40 million polygons. " ohh man.. only 40mil?

Aw, this looks so awesome. I know for sure I don't have the time though. I'm even struggling with the TF2 comp.:(

Really? I didn't even read how long it ran just assuming I wouldn't have time. Maybe it's something to consider then. Still though, I don't like having unnecessary stress and very little free time from joining comps... It's much more relaxing to just work on projects at my own pace, awesome as most comps may be.

Considering the timeframe and that it's specifically for sculpting with no texture or low-poly, it seems very doable. Great theme too, I'm seriously considering taking a stab at it!

Since it is three months long it is not too late to start in on your designs and join in. Many creative starting points and inspiring designs are already popping up here....
