Im looking to make sculpts or full weapon models for the tf2 contest but i dont know where to find a free sculpt maker thing can anyone point me in the right direction
thank you
Yeah, the Team Fortress 2 style doesn't really use normal mapping. I can understand if you want to do an initial sculpt as reference. The TF2 models do look as if they were sculpted as plastic models. Just note that a normal bake probably won't be needed for the final product.
Sculptris' new 1.0 version is really solid. I did a quick sculpt/sketch with it earlier and was very pleased with the results. Dr. Peter is an amazing developer. As far as free sculpting tools go, it will probably be your best option.
So for the contest you suppose to design new wepons and things i see people making models is that just to show what they mean or what and then valve will make it off there pics? im confuesed
I refuse to take this seriously... sorry if I sound like a dick. I think its a veteran polycounter poking fun at a big chunk of our new members... I think last time this ended in a lawsuit lol
TF2 does use normal mapping but for very subtle details and I don't think everything in the game uses normal maps, it's been a while since I've actually dug into the files.

However i guess i can safely tell you that nothing in tf2 has been sculpted.
