Aquaria is awesome, must-have for anyone who likes metroidvania type games. World of goo is great too but there's already been a "pay what you want" for that alone so I guess everyone already knows about that!

I wonder if there numbers are taking into account people like me who made a generous contribution and downloaded all the games for all 3 OS's

Which is why I have a hard time ever believing that the robin hood style "support indies, hate drm" pirates would even make up a small percentage on the map, since the vast majority will just get the game for free, drm or not.

Once again coming back to why these things make me depressed

, the good guys in this sales are the people who paid vast amount of monies to offset the 0.01c guys and up the average.

Much like with spotify, games pirates will be satisfied when they have a service like steam, that costs nothing, gives you all the games, and is faster than the effort of pirating the game.

Guess I have to go the donations route whenever I go indie.

We hit 1 million in donations, so we opened the source for Lugaru (and some of the other games will be open-sourced also) and did an extension for a few days.

It is pretty overwhelming the support we got overall. Some people pirated, but a lot of people were extremely generous, so overall it was really positive.

What a lot of people don't realize, I think, is that the pirate community is pretty tight nit. They have forums very much like PC with their own big name members and lots of activity and discussion. One likely scenario for this situation is simply that people browsing the warez forums and whatnot saw this bundle posted by someone, and just downloaded it right then and there when it popped up without any other thought. I'm willing to bet that a lot of them don't even realize there is a "pay what you want" deal for it. In fact I'm willing to bet they didn't even know a thing about the games. There was a game once that sold around 500 copies in total, but it went up on warez sites and had over 30,000 downloads. Its not like people heard about the game and went off to find it... they simply saw it pop up on a new thread and downloaded it for no other reason than "it was there" and they never heard about it before.

Pirates or not, I dont think they dodged the big news splash this has made, they knew what they were getting for free.

Managed to not forget to buy the games in time, well worth every dollar, hope it adds to the fuel for the developers involved, more of those kind of games are needed

They announced today that they've made over $1M now. Good for them and the charities (which has earned over $300k). I dropped a $10 today. I wish I had the kind of dough to REALLY encourage these types of activities though.
