The Tree Temple - Environment

so guys back with a new project. This time i'm gonna try some organic work in this environment. So the scene is this ancient temple built into the trees. The spaceship in the scene is flying around exploring this new area. The green lines coming out the spaceship will be replaced a smoke trail. I'll be bring the trees into mudbox for extra detailing. So check out the pics below !!!

I think thats a interesting concept and its a little different from what your usual style seems to be. Cant wait to see how you handle the organic versus the hard surface. Out of curiosity what modeling app do you use.

ajr2764: Yeah, i really wanted to add some organic work to my portfolio. I plan on creating more Env with my temple theme/set. Since all the models were built in a modular form. I'm using 3Ds Max 2010 right now for my modeling app.

ok guys back with my first mudbox sculpt. i think it turned out pretty well, i need to go back and refine a lot of stuff. I plan on making the mountains in Zbrush. more to come on Friday !!!

tried sculpting my tree again in zbrush . its looking better but there still needs more work to be done.

updated the entire composition. I think it looks a lot better now.There will be a ton more trees in the background.

if you crazybump some coarse bark, then some smooth bark, and use an inverted ao as a mask for the coarse bark, itll look pretty good i think

Really digging the new tree sculpt looks alot better then the previous. Are you still going to incorporate the spaceship in the new compostion.

thanks, yep i plan on having the spaceship flying in. you can barley see in the sketch i just posted.

so guys back with another update. so changed the entire scene again, i really wanted to focus on a much smaller tighter environment this time around. so everything is pretty much set layout wise. I gonna model out a brand new tree tomorrow, i really don't like the one in the scene right now.
