Fargo - lots of nice red stains.
The Road - no snow as such, but obviously very cold

Dead Snow - Swedish zombie film. Nice gore. Lots of Snow.

The X-Files film should be taken off of the list. It only has a winter setting for like, five minutes of the movie.

I can't think of any winter horror films off the top of my head. If you are insistent on Horror + Winter, you might want to take AvP off the list as well. It isn't horrifying or surreal in the slightest. (also, the acting is terrible) Dreamcatcher isn't my favorite film either, but I think it still belongs.

Extremely cold/winter environments aren't nearly as popular for horror films, mainly due to the fact that most horror films tend to be low budget. Shooting movies in cold weather environments is much more costly, and generally bad for the morale of the actors. You've already listed most of the stand-outs.

Awesome snowboarding documentary. I watch it at least once a month and every time I do I feel like just dropping everything and going snowboarding.

Home Alone is pretty terrifying. The way that sadistic 8 year old tortures those two hapless burglars is viscious and coldly premeditated. Ban this filth!

Seriously though, I think Enemy at the Gates has lot of snow and frostbite.

Added Mongol & Transsiberian, also, there is this one movie I forgot the name of, a psychic kid, couple of kidnappers, a deserted hide-out place in the middle of beautiful ice-scapes? Anyone?

Richard Kain: Very correct, it still remains one of the lesser explored phenomenon in the reel industry. Removed The X-Files, I remember looking at some good environments in this movie, might have been mistaken, ah whatever.

Nick Carver: Haha, sometimes, its just too much for an 8 year old kid, feel sorry for the burglars everytime I watch it. I think I am gonna draft out a flip-side script, its payback time kiddo, burglars molesting 8 year olds and ripping their scalps with ginsu knives muhaha!
