Hey there, I've been working on this piece for a while. It was my first showcase piece in UT3, but I plan on trying to spruce it up more to be in my demo reel.
I turned this project in for a class back in June of 09. I failed that class because of it haha.
That's what I turned in. I've been playing with it over the past two days though, and this is what I've come up with so far.
I don't have tons of time to toss crazy stuff into this, but if you guys have any suggestions for what to add/fix... that'd be awesome.
Also, if anyone has any idea how to make a 3D tumbleweed that isn't insanely high poly... please let me know haha. I want to add a few of them blowing around the environment. I think it'd be a nice touch.

In the 2nd shot you have lots of objects in the distance that are hard to make out and they end up disturbing the otherwise nice view of the landscape.
Overall, try placing things alot more randomly, grass clumped together in places of interest, or where you believe the soil is richer in nutrients. Maybe make a haystack and give the ground some colour in places around vegetation, atm it is just one colour and that's pretty boring.
Last thing I noticed is the sun is quite visible and the sky quite clear so it should be alot brighter around the farm. Also Judging from the height of the sun you should have some pretty dark and sharp shadows coming from those buildings.
I think the foliage color is reversed. Generally from what I've seen, it starts lighter at the base and then changes to green or brown etc. Try adding a small light ramp at the base to ease the blending from the ground.
