Extrude along axis in 3DS Max?

Hey guys, I'm quite stuck with how to do this in max. When I push the extrude button, it always extrudes along the local axis of the selected faces. Is there a way to extrude only along a selected axis?

You could "Extrude Along Spline" - it's a few buttons lower than Extrude.
-Make a spline in the direction you want to extrude, click that button, and pick your spline.

Also, you could try Snap (with Axis Constraints On) aswell.

just extrude with a height of 0 and then move it how ever far you want.
