Found this amazing artist while listening through some random dark ambient music. I've been listening to it for the past two days , really weird, dark and peaceful at the same time . If any of u guys have heard similar stuff , kindly post as i would like to divulge more into this sort of music .
i've heard of him through listening to TOOL and he is friends with the band/guitarist... but i havent really given him a full listen.. for me its hard music to get into
I've heard a few of his albums... not sure about similar stuff, though.
Some sample tracks of Olhon here: http://www.olhon.org/recordings.htm
There are some haters out there for Biosphere (wtf is with the hate?), but:
Oooo... that stuff really is minimal but still rather enjoyable! I've come across some cool shit lately although not quite fitting to this thread, still.. ill post it to share the awesome.
Had a thread a but back complaining about mp3s and not enough flacs? This is the music specific to why I complained. You loose the depth of the subtlety with a lossy compressed file with this type.
I've been a long time fan of Robert Henke's/Monolake's work; all of his stuff is amazing. I've recently been addicted to Logreybeam's It's All Just Another Aspect of Mannerism; it's not dark in the spirit of lustmord, but certainly has a sinister, if not morbid, quality about it. Like flowers blooming on a decaying corpse, has a depressingly beautiful subtlety about it. Highly recommend it.
Wow, I can't believe no one has posted any Teargas & Plateglass. "One day across the valley" leaves me speechless every time I listen to it. I don't know if the monologue in it is real or not, but it easily could be real considering what goes on everyday across much of central Africa.
Cool stuff! Never really listened to this before but i really like it! Only music i have listened too that reminds me of this stuff is the Black Aria album by Danzig and in some way Burzum - Dunkelheit but this is all much more awesome!
Really liking Lustmord and Wardruna so far. Great listen while working!

Hard to find his stuff as its so long (20+ minutes). If you have time, check out Studies for Thunder. http://www.monolake.de/concerts/studies_for_thunder.html
Yagya a is more beat oriented, but still I would put near same genre.

Already mentioned, Biosphere is good as well.
As always, check Trent Reznors tracks for the original Quake. You might be surprised if you haven't listened before.
