getting new headphones

howdy. Im looking into buying new headphones and figured I'd ask to see if anyone had any experience with the ones I was looking at.
I was looking at the skull crushers (from skull candy)

though many reviews I have read were quite poor.
I've liked all the skull candy products I've tried and this one seemed good for 50 bucks.
also one review said very poor for metal/hardcore music (which is a majority of what I like) so any suggestions on another pair or if you have tried/owned these
I love heavy bass so these seemed sick, but would appreciate your thoughts

they're great for metal, no complaints from me. great sound, and very articulate. They are also small and portable, can fit in your jacket pocket if you fold them up. They also have quick-release type plugs, so the cable gremlins can never tie your cord in knots.
A bit pricey, but they're worth it. Tried a pair on a trip to london last year on the plane and loved them, they canceled out the jet engine sound perfectly, which if they can do that.. they can do anything
Also not a fan of the ear piece on the bose (even if I could afford)
interesting that ya say that luke, I had heard they were quite durable (may be marketing hype or people not knowing what they are talking about)
I bought 2 pairs of these
and I love them.
Best pair of headphones I've tried yet. I don't like the expensive Sennheisers, they are too tight on the head, overpriced and I don't think they sound all that great.
I think those headphones are like 250 it says, but I think I paid like 150 or something at Guitar Center.

Otherwise i would go for sennheiser hd25-II, also a lot of sound(and a shitload of bass) for a less tight budget
Headphones are like a car, matries or glasses. Not something you want to get out of the bargin bin
And for the love of god and your coworkers, stay away from the Koss. I swear they have the speakers installed inside out because the sound leakage is terrible. People will hate you for them :P
they do leak yeah, but at those volumes people they'll destroy your ears before your workmates will destroy you. :P
you still can't deny the quality of the sound.
make sure u mention the budget, the intended music genre and ur personal preference (bass, mids, highs, etc)
The ones I don't like are the ones that were just posted, the HD595, u need a small head to wear them. Well at least for me, they were waaay to tight to wear for more than like 10 min.
Basically your best bet is to just try them on yourself at a store. Reading reviews alone isn't good enough when buying nice headphones. Treat it almost like a car, you can't go by word of mouth alone.
Buddy of mine has the Sennheiser HD555, and they feel cheap in comparison, imo. Also, little to no "sound leaking".
