Unreal Mesh Viewer question...

Hello,

This has been happening a lot lately to me and I have no idea why. When I import in a hard edge mesh it makes it look 'bubbly' as if it automatically puts a crappy smoothing group on it by default. What if I want it sharp with no smoothing group on like in Max?

This happens before and after I build lights. It is driving me mad and killing my scene!

Please help out, thanks.

Make sure the smoothing groups are set in max, and make sure that "bake smoothing groups" is checked in the actorx export settings.

If that doesn't seem to work, then select the faces that make up the hard edge and detach them to their own element, thereby breaking the edge vertices.

The end result is identical. Smoothing groups are just implicitly broken verts.

I will try to put a smoothing group on just flat surfaces, I still think it is weird that it is doing that, I mean why must it have a smoothing group, for example: a cube.

Also I cannot seem to find baking smoothing groups, I use ASCII Exporter for unreal.
I will give the own element a try, thanks.
