Hey,

I will be updating this thread actively over the next few weeks, this project is for a class assignment. Following is a photo that I'm using primarily for references:

I've only just started the model so there's not much to show thus far, but here goes:

I've already noticed some proportion problems with the brim after making the render that I will be fixing, other than that, I'd appreciate any suggestions and/or feedback

Its looks good in max(I think thats max, could be maya too) and it looks ok in unreal, but I dont like that skin color on that mask

Seems are also noticeably visible. Would definitely put some more care into the textures. I really like the high poly model however. Good luck!

your textures, are lacking ALOT of detail the concept has. You have taken something rather ornate and made it mundane. Looks like it is a generic soldier helmet now. The model looks good, but the textures need work. I would also recommend more "strategic" lighting in Unreal for your renders.

yes, I agree with p442. I also think you could punch up the spec and try to make your light a bit more dramatic. With your lighting now, it kinda loses the modeled detail you have in the Head Cap Piece (top) not to mention all the cool detail in the textures. If your also looking for a way to introduce reflections, you could try a cube map. Cube maps are actually something cool you can research and mess with.
