Hey there,

the theme I'm going for will be a village in the middle of the water, which is going to be struck by a huge wave. More details later.

I'm also going to try and make my scene/level playable so it's an actual game level(not the actual end level of a game, but a 4 player death-match for unreal tournament.)

I have been doing some research and tests on making a very large wave, I also tried it in cryengine but can't get it right. So I decided that the "end" will probably be a torpedo you see coming underwater(or already hitting the village).

However because I opened cryengine I kinda got in love again, so the environment will probably be in cryengine. I already made a brushblockout of my environment in unreal and will soon show some concepts and directions.

so I've been blocking out some brushes, and started painting over them, but somehow I don't feel like it's really unearthly, I miss something, what do you guys think?

this is basically the last game artisans settlement in a polycount dominating world, and there will be a bomb placed with the greentooth on it to show the end of game artisans.

another idea that I have now is the end boss of a game, which has been cursed in the past and is now asleep till someone will show up that can defeat him. Because he has been asleep for many many years and no-one has ever discovered him. The cathedral like environment his throne is in has been broken in a lot of places, and trees and plants started covering the structure.

well the rules also state that end game could be the end level of a game, like the room where you meet the final boss, which is this basically. right?

didn't like where my previous pillars were going so made a few new ones, still not textured:

first I'm making the cathedral in good state, and then I'll start breaking it.

liking the texture work but almost looks a little to even as far as the dirt, maybe you can vary some stains and muck and then when placing them in the scene you can turn them all slightly so they dont look repeated

so I have a question I tried one destruction pass and it failed miserably. how does one go about creating a destruction pass?

because this structure is so modular I'll just make a few modular pieces that are destroyed and place them on the right spot, it's not like the whole church is destroyed, just a part of it.

got a ceiling in today, just a screengrab from maya, no normals or so:

need to add a nice end stone on the crossing ribs...

I need to do alot of homework now, so I won't be working that much on this scene for a week.:(

edit: and a quick setup in unreal:

some problems with some meshes but will solve that.

I probably won't make the unearthly deadline:(, but I'll just continue with this scene anyway. Unearthly has been helping me to keep working on it:) I feel ashamed to post this between all the other awesome stuff out there but here is a shot from maya (no normalmaps-simplelighting) to show my progress so far:

can you tell me im using UDK but when im in game view it look the edges pixelated like a stair the is no soften nice edges you know how can soft that in unreal or UDK?
