I like the setup of the one labeled #3 the best because it's the least flat. Work with your ideas with that sort of a deep scene in mind I think.

Nothing terribly exciting from me today, just some rope bridge LODs.

Kevin should have a cool dragon head to post soon.

I would say that that rope bridge at its maximum detail could be only as the lowest LOD version.
Definitely 2K tris is too much even for "close distance" LOD :P

After all it will be easier, faster and nicer to do the whole bridge as one sigle mesh sicne overlapping and "chunkiness" could be visible where LOD pieces are connected.

Excellent, this is one of the few I like.

Quick question, is the tower ZBrush? I would imagine that will take a huge chunk of your texture allowance in the final scene. However you may not have used ZBrush.

thanks guys and Mimp.. yes its zbrush but its more or less a "test" I am going to make a tiled brick texture but I want to save some chunks off this thing for busted up edges and such

Ill have the brick tile and the rest of the castle up next week.. im out this weekend.. take care all

well here's the slow update.. Josh is busy moving to sanfran for a new job so hes being a slacker.. and I don't really have an excuse so.. yeah... anyways here's the first pass on the castle. Its around 10k using 2 512x2 and 1 256x128. I next pass ill add in the dragon gateway, moss and overgrowth. Hope ya like it

it looks great from this distance, very stronghold-ish feel to it. the bricks might be a bit busy from further away though. great job nontheless
