Make sure you make the roots look like they've been chewed through.

Soo.. Highpoly for prop nr1. Not entirely finished, gonna drag it kicking and screaming through Zbrush aswell, and fix some stuff on it, but enough excuses and here goes:

wow, looks like a lot of effort went into that bad boy, nice. Only thing buggin' me is that dragon-head lookin' doohickey at the top. Best prop i've seen so far

Honestly don't see much use with zbrush, looks to have plenty detail as is. Maybe just grunge it up using xnormal in shop? But feel free to jazz it up as you see fit!

very nice. Dragon heads aren't working for me either - I think it's the curled back lips. Maybe something just a little menacing would work well.

BTW how do you model when you did your highpoly support, i got some catching up to do on highpoly modeling techniques

Going to look awesome in perspective. I also like how the white adds a fog effect without having to rely on in-game fog (going to use the same technique so we don't wash out our skybox).

aaaaand here's a shot of the lowpoly-bake. Now I'm going to bed. If I can get out of this damn locked-down office.

also, it needs to loose some polys, it is fat. And got a 1k texture, shot is fancy xnormal-screengrab. And yeah, theres a comparison of the low and high.
