Going to give this comp a go, have modelled my character today and will UV him tonight hopefully. Leaving it a bit late but should just make it more fun.
Now, if I could just post an attachment heh.
Based on a Bertie Wooster type toff, "get orf moi land" type chappy.

Posting rules say "you may not post attachments"
someone had posted images after making only 5 posts. Oddness.
it'll be the one surrounded by or
Its just the standard method as mentioned in the FAQ here for instance is to go to
"Manage Attachments" and ""Upload Image" but for me there doesnt appear to be that option
which is the strange bit.
I'm used to hosting images elsewhere but its nice for the site to have the option of hosting images like
CGTalk, GameArtisans, etc.
Thanks for your help though.
wires of Bertie, 726 tri's, gun 64:
blocked in some colour to make a start:
I think you could move the chin forward? i cant really tell how it wil look unless you have a concept with you.
I think you could shave some polies off from the torso and the barrel of the shotgun. Why does it have an edge going through the middle? TERMINATE.
Everything looks great looking forward to updates
upper class twit, chinless wonder, nose in the air. Its kind of working.
No concept, just doing it from my head and looking at a mix of photos
of John Lydon in the Country Life advert and Hugh Laurie in Jeeves
and Wooster.... If I have time it'd be nice to the Lady of the house,
butler, cook, maid, gardener....heheh
The gun, yes i wasnt too sure but i wanted to mirror the textures, its a
double barrel hunting gun and because I had some spare, thought it might work.
thanks again man
I knew you had the loop there for mirroring, but i just thought i'd let it out in the air.Plus, i alwyas try to figure out if having more polycount is better than having bigger texture space. The former is generally the better choice (from what ive learnt here )
He should have an eye glass ooh ooh and a moustache too
Heheh the glass monocle would be amazing, great idea!
probably the models fault.:poly136:
Funnily enough theres a really cool entry in this comp with a character based on Simon Pegg, Shaun of the Dead, excellent model and textures, really cool:
http://boards.polycount.net/showthread.php?t=57958
Anyway, I get that you're going for a posh, uptight look, and the way his head tilts back does support that, but the texture on his neck doesn't, as it's pretty muscular or veiny.
I was blaming the rigging but maybe i can tweak that texture.
I wanted twit more but he's gone a bit tough dammit:)
Thanks for the kind words Mop and MP
Next, stock the bar! 4780 tri's and less than half the texture space used....should be enough for some bottles...:
I've always worked with lightmaps...
Microneezia - thanks for the kind words mate:)
But i dont think you should have so many of those zombies in the same shot lol. but i guess youre just playing around?
modelled far too much of it than was necessary, could have spent the poly's
better in the immediate vicinity. ah well:)
Too many zombies?! You can never have too many zombies!
and was great getting away from using photos for textures :poly142::
You should do a shot with more environment dude.
