Hey Polycount!

So I've been working on my free time on a female bust and just kept adding stuff according to my mood. Here's where I'm at right now :

In my next posts I will add some construction shots of the HP, wireframe, etc.. And of course more screenshots of how far I will take this portrait.

Here's some construction shots. The highpoly used for the bake and what the lowpoly cunrrently looks like. It's not very well optimized so I'm working on it.

Ok, I changed a lot of things, it's barely the same character anymore. So I lowered the polycount of the face to 10k triangles, optimized the UVs to have more rez on the face, redid the pores and fixed some anatomy issues in the face.

I like this new character design. The last one was fine too, but just seemed a bit generic. I'm curious to see how the hair turns out textured. Since you're going with a punk aesthetic, I assume some kind of bleached or artificial coloring makes the most sense. And if you wanted to go full punk, you might want to play around with the idea of adding a tattoo somewhere too.

The hair reminds me of Chloe from Life is Strange.

Hey Blueblur, thanks for your input. Yeah, for the hair I envisonned something like pink hair with black roots. I don't have any tattoo idea yet but that could be a possibility.

Ok, so I blocked out the majority of the character, it is based on a sketch by Jun Rao.

Some more progress on this character. Sculpted a bit of the Jacket, improved the face and tried a new hair style that I think suits her more.

I love the way you're tackling the tight braids on the side of the head. I believe the biggest issue I see are the eyes right now. They look a little 'foggy' and not sitting/blending nicely with the eyelids. I learned a lot from Vadim and his marmoset breakdown here . What should help most is a transitional mesh w/ blur and some spec. Not sure what rendered you're using, but the same principles apply.

Dang completely missed this, looking awesome. Love how the face and deets are turning out, and cant wait to see some hair on those cards ^^ (love the base you got laid down)

@Nizza_waaarg Yeah, I'm currently working on placing cards with hair, but damn, it's always so hard to make hair that looks good!
