Finally get my hands on some environment so i definitely need some advices/critique on this. I am not planning to spend a lot of time on this, just want to have some fun and get exp in making environments. Not decided yet if i am going to render it in UE4 or do a Sketchfab scene/upload.
Only few rederences for now + some freestyle, maybe some egyptian/medieval fantasy style
Tech specs i am aiming for:
-2k Maps
-Diffuse, Normal, Spec, Gloss maps
-Mid poly models(Going for round/soft silhouettes)
What is done now:
-LP/HP models + Normal maps
-Scene composition
-Lighting test
-Placeholder sand texture
UE4 shots:
Replies
-Changed day time to night
-Sculpted aditional details on door arc
-Did first pass on textures
-Removed PP volume
-Some tweaks on composition

-New sand texture + a bit of displacement experiment
-More tweaks to composition
-Another rune+light color
I got feeling that scene lacks some FX or more texture work on top arc, will do another pass on textures tomorrow!
My only complaint is that the lighting + geometry only reveal the sand dunes from the side of the model, while they'd be much more impactful if they were seen from the front instead (from the front view the sand looks rather flat right now.
It was actually planned to be a flat surface but i think i should go for a dunes now and tweak displacement map for a bit
-FInished textures
-More composition tweaks
-Added sand layer to the most of the objects textures
-Sand plane tweaks
No sketchfab update for today, just some screens of new FX on old scene(would be nice to have some advices on this):
Planning to add some sandstorm around the scene as the finishing touch.

Will do Artstation post soon with all additional info like screenshots of sculpts and some textures
Can't wait to see what's on the other side of that portal j/k
