Hi guys and gals, after years of 2D game art and concept art I finally decided to get into 3D. So far I use it just to help me with stuff in 2D illustrations, but will like to be able to do my own 3D game assets eventually.
Here I would like to share my progress on project I call "guns of redcon" where I try to remake some of designs I did for mobile game redcon by hexage.
I would appreciate any critique and advice you can give.
Thanks a million

The procedural wear is too deep and evenly-covered on the Kranz cannon, hoping you choose another method for this next one.
The stubby design theme is messing with the sense of scale for the Ion cannon. The platform, controls, and steps don't draw enough attention to portray the true size. I'd suggest adding more scale cues to the upper portions of the weapon. Things like antennas, satellite dishes, beacons, alarm speakers, etc could help and also make the silhouette a little more interesting.
Lastly, the giant cables on the ion cannon need to be harnessed down or together. They are hanging loose directly over the walkway which looks dangerous (i.e. 'poorly manufactured'). A harness/lock system that could be disengaged from that center platform would be a plus.
Great to see more and more impressive work done in Blender.
Waiting for more...
