The character I'm sculpting and hand painting in zbrush still feels a bit plain! He is a god of wisdom, for a uni assessment and I just am looking for some ideas to "jazz up" his robes a little.

Maybe some more stuff you could give your character would be the hair middle bit more on thr forehead, some folds in the fabric, you could sculpt fur, stuff like that.
Ah, thank you I am currently working on adding more hair around the pony tail, also studying some cloth folds before I have a crack at sculpting some in.
Thanks for your input!
Some things I would add to this character: a belt, some type of necklace with a gem that gives him his powers, and some type of embroidery design on the clothing to show off his status.
What could help with visual brainstorming more "jazzing up" material is looking into dieties of wisdom from other mythological cultures. Greek, Thai, South Asian, Norse, and other cultures with strong visual iconography for ideas such as wisdom will have a bevy of ideas for you to work with.
This being a cat, I think immediately of Egypt. There may be something there for you to use, reinterpret, and execute on.
