I'm done
I wish to redesign Kog'Maw with a more Dinosaur/Reptilian appearance.
The main elements I wish to bring in are illustrated in the picture attached:
1 - T-Rex head/jawline
2 - A feathered Crest like many birds
3 - Feathered Elbows to highlight and exaggerate the arm movement
4 - A Plated Body similar to the default skin borrowing largely from Girdled Lizards
5 - A Clubbed, Spiked Tail
6 - Emu Feet and thicker upper legs
7 - Tongue will probably remain the same with possibly more exaggeration to it's teeth.

The Head features may need a lot more exaggeration and a more distinct/unique colour to make the Maw the main attraction. (Also forgot the tongue)
I'll have a crack at roughing it out in zBrush later to see how the proportions are working in 3D
Some of the features don't work or aren't unique enough from the original design. I've penned in my own thoughts on what can change on the screen grab attached.
I'm dropping the feathers in favour Jurassic park's Dilophosaurus frill. I hope to put more emphasis on the Venomousness of this character by adding bulging venom sacks throughout the body too.
Crap puns aside, the second iteration has given me an idea to try having the frill end connect to the elbow rather than carry on around the underside. I should have it flow directly from the head too, more similar to the base of it in the left image.

Completed the low poly@ 5.5k (Tris)
Remembered I can't paint.
Projected a coconut octopus all over it and painted over that.
Currently setting up the rig While I think more on the colour scheme
