been mucking about with a simple stone generator for max it's basically a geosphere with random clipping planes (the demo object has a mesh smooth with 2 iterations on it plus some box mapping). Anyway the script is attached for anyone who wants to play :)
add new method for my spline emitter for the distribution to avoid clumping on inside corners and sparsity on outside corners a few issues on closed spline with max sdk returning some funky tangent values on corner knots :/
I'm surprised at some of the Max opinions. As a novice 3D modeller, I found Max the easiest software to learn modelling in, especially compared to Blender ;)
nice as the ouliner mod is it threw up a few possible issues (revealed by extruded max text not capping correctly  ). So I need to test some boolean operation on the outlines so added some shape booleans ops to max script to aid this.... does union (show with resample mod applied), difference, intersection and xor…
finally finished a set of C#, python and max scripts to establish 2 way communication between python and 3ds max (thanks blur for taking down your 3ds max/python stuff :( ). First I tried COM objects but this didn't prove practical because I had problems with multiple instances, python Qt windows never stayed on top of 3ds…
Heya mLichy! Nice lookin' toolset! I tried using your bitmap auditor thingy, but it crashes max hard every time I hit "refresh". Max 2012 -64bit on Windows 7.
Yeah, C# is much better than Maxscript. Although having to reload max for each new .dll compile is annoying. Also having to deal with all the Eventhandlers if you got that route. But if you directly hook into max with some of the SDK exposed stuff through C#, that's better. But then you can't support < Max 2012 or…
@mLichy: That looks awesome! I sincerely hope you plan on sharing a final version that works with Max 9 and above.. :) Cheers~ P.S. Or if you need / want some Max 9 testing let me know.
