I'm new to modeling and I'm having an issue with an extrude I've done. I've extruded in and its left a few faces on the bottom. I'm trying to delete them however it leaves an edge and 3 vertices that i can't delete. After deleting them it leaves it like this I've also tried using the delete edge/vertices tool and I've also…
now the real question would be, why does your mesh have this density at that stage? wouldnt it be simpler to model with the minimum amount of faces now and subdivide later?
Yup, however it requires to set the smoothing groups (face based in Max unless there's a script I don't know about? ) ... + Ain't everybody model in Max :flushed:
Hey, Starting to get into 3D modeling and I've run into a small problem, where I want to extrude one face into a shape over top of another face, where the two faces will share a set of vertices after the extrude. I was trying to model a tank, but have moved past the problem now, so all I have is this quick example I made…
Wow, thanks for all the answers :) Got another problem. For a Tutorial, where I am modeling a Watch, there is a Step I can't complete -.- This is a Piece with Mirror Modifier on it. I had to delete the Front face like here: Step 1 Step 2 After this step, I have to create the Faces in this area, but my subsurf won't work…
If you are determined and really want to only have quads on that mesh, there are several solutions. This is a quick one. You have to move vertices in order to have an even distribution of geometry, or at least a gradual shift. You can use of average vertex or edit edge flow to automate the process, but you'll have to…
Seems like you need to optimize the mesh! Check if there is no more points around or at the same spot! Or any overlaping polygon face! To me it sounds like a not welded point!
dunno maybe something like this: get the main shape by cutting the side faces of a cylinder then champer the edges and delete polys to get side hole. add shell modifier.
How do I model the disk part as well as the screens? Since this mesh has an odd number of screens, I had to make a 14 sided cylinder in blender, keep two of the 14 faces, extrude the screens, and duplicate and rotate the faces 7 times. I want to add a bevel to the mesh because importing this mesh to 3D Coat for sculpting…
