I voted side scroller. I was going to vote for #3, and I have a ton of favorite paintings, but they all seem to be focused around people, their interactions, and the powerful emotions coming off of that. so...
When casting your vote, I think its essential to think about what you'd like to be challenged by. Since #2 is clearly losing right out the gate I'll talk about #1 and #3. #1 is more of a design challenge. The entire piece is up to you to create from scratch, based on obvious inspirations. #3 is more of a technical…
The side-scroller one could be a fun exercise in loss of perspective. Next-gen isometric view!? WHAT. If we end up with #3 you guys had better do Youtube videos of the environment, I'd love to see how you transitioned a painting to an environment.
Side scroller! The biggest thing about number 3 though... is seeing it in motion. If that does wind, I'd try my hardest to get movement within the scene (in the style of the original artist)... would be SO amazing, but I think I'd rather do that on my own time for shits and giggles.
Good point about the second one being a mixture of the two, I'm certain I picked #3 mostly because it was the one I could visualize most easily. Really, I(as I'm sure most are) am just down for whatever. They all sound like they'd make good topics.
You guys asked for it, and we're finally ready to move on to our next 3D modeling challenge. This time around - based on requests from the community - it will be an environment focused challenge. However, rather than jump right in to this challenge we're going to present 3 challenge ideas for you to choose from. The…
YES! I've been waiting for this since it was mentioned however many weeks ago. I love that you guys listen to what the community has to say. #3 does sound the most interesting, but I am a little biased, since I'm currently working on a side scrolling project and it would be nice to do something different, ha.
Vig brings up a good point, I was having a hard time visualizing a hub(even though I've done one before 0_o), in comparison to the others which were easy to grasp. The more I think about it #1 sounds the most creative. I think what I liked so much about #3 was the idea of experimenting with a texturing style based off of a…
Probably not going to compete since HUB is losing and that interests me the most, might do it just to do it though. I think HUB is losing not because it sucks as a contest idea but because HUB as a word isn't as informative as the other choices. "Side-scroller beat-em-up": I <3 retro, Its easy to show up art from 20 years…
