Throwing my hat in the ring.

Just doing a few thumbnails to get the silhouette down, and I'll add in more detail in a concept sculpt later.

Right now, I'm feeling either A, B, or E.

I'm digging it. The claws at the crown are super successful design-wise. I'd try to get some of that badass scallopy-ness from the claws and the center bit into the blades. The blades are a little swoopy and elven feeling. My 2 bits.

Thanks for the feed! I kinda felt the same way for a bit too. I'll play around and see what I can come up with!

Nice pass on the latest concept. Really like how the design of the handle which really gives your weapon a nice chunky silhouette. If i could suggest one thing is to to close the gap you have in the blade as that lower piece seems like it could easly brake off and it really fights with designing a bulky type weapon and try messing with more angular shapes for the blade as well to stay more with a bulk style. Looking forward on more progress on this!

Yea I agree. Thanks for the advice. The more chunky the better (know what i mean)

I'm working on a paint over currently, however the GDC Party virus has taken over the last few days so I haven't been as productive as I'd like to be this week.

Came down with an early version of the GDC virus but got out a bed a bit to finish my paint over. This is the version I'm (probably) going with but also wanted to get some thoughts and opinions on the other paint overs I did.

And of course as soon as I posted this, I've grown less to like it!

Although, doing this has given me some more ways to incorporate some other cool elements and refine others into it as well (IE more bones and skulls!)

So as I predicted, I went back to the drawing board today and did a (very rough) paint over again plus defined a few more details and added some more bits.

While I liked some of the elements of the first paint over, I didn't think i fit any of the styles of Darksiders, so with this one I'm going more with the Darksiders weapons.

Feeling good about this and now on to modeling!

Models looking nice! There's a weird normal thing going on in the middle of the blade, but that's probably just Maya.

Is that a hand that's holding the skull in place? Pretty cool concept. I'm gonna pretend that the skull is ashy Larry's skull.

Thanks dude. No it was actually the smoothing groups I hadn't set yet. Needed to also add a few more divisions in some spots for sculpting as well.

You may have just not added it yet, but it doesn't look as if there is anything holding the claws on. They appear to just be sitting there. Might want to give it more of an attachment like in your concept. Nice sculpt otherwise.

Yup got a piece not sculpted yet thats nice and chunk connects the body and blade.

Finished (for now) sculpt. And yes, I'm aware one of the blades has some funky damage on it. No worries, that side will not be part of the final t page, just used symmetry on that blade.

That came out real nice. I feel like maybe the piece towards the bottom, with the skull on it, could use a bit more polys? Did you bake it out of xnormal? cause it is pretty clean.

I'd love to see wire frames soon!!

Thanks! It's more like I put the polys in the wrong spot, but I'll have that wonky look fixed in a bit. And yea I used xnormal.
