Hey,
I have absolutely no idea where to post this, so here I go.
Would anyone happen to know what rock type this would be? I've been looking around but I can't find any concrete (no pun intended) proof of what this rock type/formation is called.
Yep looks like the pics where taken at a limestone quarry. You want to be careful when using ref of cut rocks to make natural cliffs. These look pretty worn down but they're still cut cliffs so be careful.
Well, It's either limestone or sandstone. Sandstone can also be gray (as well as the color of sand). We have a mountain where I live called sand ridge, and its nothing but those kind of rocks everywhere. Of course, there's a lot of limestone around here too... I could never tell the difference between the two (when the sandstone was the gray type anyway)...

Whereas I was thinking it would be some other form of sedimentary rock like this: http://www.edupic.net/Images/Biomes/layered_rock303.JPG
Would it be possible that those rock formations were formed by glaciers a long, lonnnng time ago? (The ones in my original post)
that's the "limestone pavement" above Malham Cove in the yorkshire dales, UK
the cliff itself - note how the bottom half seems to be a lot more "natural" looking than the top bit, but it's all entirely from nature
