Opinions on a character concept?

Here is a character concept we've come up with for the Minigunner from the original Command & Conquer.

We want to make sure that our concepts are at the best that we can get them. As such, we've come here hoping to get some opinions on the concept and suggestions as to how we can improve it.

really depends what your goal is, otherwise it's hard to give opinions. There's room for improvement as a painting, and there's little to be discussed as a design.

The goal is to recreate these units as they were in the original game.

I would see what you can do about adding some visual interest through the silhouette, color pallet, and overall costume design. Even if you're constrained by contemporary military wardrobe, there is almost always wiggle room to make things a bit more interesting.

Well we're trying to recreate the units as they were in the original C&C, and this is what they looked like in the game's cinematics.

I would be all for taking advantage of a little wiggle room, I'm just not entirely sure how much wiggle room to take.
