I am needing to create a roadway that really exists. It's about 9 blocks in length. For my first attempt I used a tiling asphalt texture and blended a 16k texture of the roadway lines that I created in illustrator. I created the texture by simply tracing the lines of a google earth aerial. Are there more efficient ways to do this? The main problem I am having is the repetition of the asphalt tile over such a large area. The other problem is that even though I am using a 16k texture the painted road lines are so small they don't match the texel density of the asphalt tile texture. Thats why I had to bump it up to 16k.

Anyone have some ideas?
