Ornamental Pillar

Good evening Polycount,

I have worked the last couple of days on an ornamental pillar and want to share the "final" screenshots here on Polycount with the hope someone can give me some feedback and tips on rendering/presentation of this model and also in general. I am not really happy with the current render and I am not sure what I could improve.

I used ZBrush, 3Ds Max, Substance Painter 2, Substance Designer 6 and Marmoset Toolbag 3.

    Hay dude good work so far! Not sure what there reference was you are working from but the mesh feels kinda flat. In my opinion those column tops work best when they have some depth and curve to them. Currently the material feels a little like rust and not stone but then again I'm not sure what your reference looks like. The presentation isn't bad but there is no roughness contrast in your materials and the material definition is lacking in general. Maybe post your reference for anyone to give you further crit.
