my first handpaint

I have always liked the look of handpainted textures, but I have never tried it because I was too worried it would be horrible. I've decided to make my first texture. Please post critiques. I'll be adding images in this thread as I progress. Thanks!

It's a decent base, but I would suggest bumping up the contrast a bit more to make it better readable in a scene and from a distance, also I would introduce some colors (not too much, just a hint of red or blue), to make it more interesting.

Keep up the good work and I will be looking forward seeing more of your handpainted textures.

Splash in some subtle off hues. Right now, it feels "dead" because you're just using one hue at various values.

ive only been painting stuff for a few months now. first grass texture i have ever made. i am interested in creating dirt, but i have no idea how to go about it. I might upload the texture in an engine in a little while.

after coming back to this paint a few hours later, i noticed a few things that didnt look quite right. i am having a lot of trouble making the chipped parts of the plank look right. hopefully this looks a bit better. also added some lighter crevasses as well as changed the moss color. as usual, criticisms are very appreciated.

I'd say my budget is max 200. Not willing to spend anything more for something I'm not sure I'll be good with.

Get a Wacom Bamboo. It is stupid cheap, and you can probably find a used one that will work well. Wacom products hold their value.
