Ok I really like this guy's work and love the way his renders come out. http://khalkeus.tumblr.com/

The main things I want to achieve is:
1. The model seems to have no external lighting information, no shadow etc, instead the texture is illuminating itself.
2. No anti aliasing, look almost like it's being rendered on a PS1.

Thanks for looking :)

Set your viewport to 'Consistent Colors' in the top left corener with Shadows/AO turned off. Also turn off "Improve quality progressively" in your viewport configuration > Display Performance tab.

If you want to render it like that, in Rendering > Render Setup > Renderer, turn off antialiasing and filter maps. Also make sure your applied material has self illumination at 100.

the old trick was to put an omni in the scene and turn it off (kills the default lighting) ramp up the environment ambient or material self illumination, useful when you want to see only the texture on the model
