Skype for gaming question.

My girlfriend and I have our computers set up 4 feet apart and we use Skype for ease of use to talk to the 3rd member of our Diablo party, the problem is having two mics so close to each other causes echo because our mics pick up each other. Ideally I could just mute her on my end and she could mute me, that feature doesn't exist in Skype like it does in Ventrillo though. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Right now I'm thinking about buying a microphone only putting it between our two desks so perhaps it will capture both our voices, but not interfere with our head sets.

You can use my vent server if you like, I just got it for diablo and general whatnot. I'll send you the info.

Thats what I would do, just use a microphone.

I find even my headset with the mic boost on still manages to pick up anyone else in the room.

you can do push to talk in skype now. options > advanced > hotkeys.

not what you're looking to do but should help with echo.

me and my mates generally just put games in the steam overlay and use that. 1 person is elected to keep their mic on and the others mute theirs. works really well.
