Materials only showing in Editor

Hi. Im sitting in udk and placing some materials here and there and they look good in the editor but when i right click and play all is see is the standard checker map.

Have i hit something i should not or what?

did you save the package you've created the materials in?

Yeah, all packages have to be saved in order to view the content in PIE/game.

Open the log before opening the map and you might see a load of yellow warnings. Sometimes the lightmapping settings get messed up... checkboxes in the properties of the root node.
