Maya2012 - Level Tools?

Is it possible to align the rotational pivot of an object to the orientation of an edge or a face in Maya?, whether it be through plugin or script.

Level tools for Maya 2009 used to have a tool for something similar, but now we only have Bonus Tools...and the download link for the Bonus Tools has been down to some time (shows how much people care about those).

*face-palm* ok so just noticed that it actually does exist but has been renamed Layout Tools. Hopefully the link for that one isn't shoddy.
