A while back Kevin Johnstone made a post about how to reuse bricks he made in zbrush. I'm trying to use this technique in a scene I'm working on now, the only problem is that I'm using maya.
So I'm assuming the last step you would just use animation deformers to bend the bricks. But I'm mainly wondering about the creating the tileable geometry. Can anyone help me create this so I can use it on multiple assets?
An easy way to set it up is to create a tiling pattern in photoshop and put that on a plane which is the size of your grid, and you can use that as a template to place your bricks in an orthographic view.

I had been messing with a script that sort of helps with this here:

The script isn't done and I haven't done anything on it for awhile, but the screenshots sort of show the process to setup tiling.
