Max 2012 Ribbon Empty

Hey guys,

I just did a fresh Windows install today and after reinstalling Max 2012, my Ribbon is missing all the tools that are usually there.

I've tried two reinstallations and the problem doesn't seem to have resolved. I've also tried using the 'reset default Ribbon' command, again to no avail.

Any ideas why this is happening or how to fix it?

I currently feel like the whole world just did a giant /facepalm.

I must admit I don't use the Ribbon very often, and had no idea it was kinda context sensitive... so yes, it now works

does the ribben even contain anything i cant get via the quad menu or sidebar?

Everything in the ribbon can be put in a quad menu (it's not there by default), but not everything is located in the command panel.
