Mudbox is painting onto wireframe...?

Very odd issue I've just ran into. I reimported new UV's from the new low poly, which matched the lowest subdivision in Max in all ways except it was unwrapped much cleaner. However, now when I paint the model in Mudbox, I get this odd wireframe issue showing up on the mesh...?

This is more than likely a simple duh moment, I'm sure. But I can't quite put my finger on it. Any ideas?

UPDATE: Ahh, if I turn edge bleeding all the way down in the Paint preferences, the wireframe on there is tiny, looks almost like zFighting, however it doesn't show up on the final texture when I render it. So thats no biggie. nothing to see here folks, move along!

EDIT: Scratch that, when I save the texture it looks like this... Now I'm totally stumped, might just do it all by hand...
