What are some tips for getting ZBrush to shoot ears, or other tricky meshes, properly? I thought I was in the clear by making sure my low res mesh was detailed enough to match the high res, but apparently not. Otherwise, to my understanding, Zbrush would have to shoot rays around corners which traditionally displacement/normal maps don't do.
My displacement comes out fine. It's just the normal that is all wonky. See attached for several images.
Should I expand the high res over the base mesh further? Is this because the shells my ears are on is seperate from the head?

A, have the high and low match up very well
B, since there is little surface difference between the high and the low, use a really short ray distance
