Thanks guys! @LRoy: Thanks! Yeah ever since zb4 has came out I have been using polypaint and spotlight to block in my texture before baking it down to the low res. Usually I end up doing some touch up at the end in ps as well for contrast and color correction. Thanks!
I will admit that the title of this thread made me worried that this would be another generic "Victorian guy with goggles = steampunk" type of thing, and I was very pleasantly surprised when I scrolled down and saw the gears. Nicely done!
Just like iconoplast I was expecting to see another generic steampunk guy, but this is a very welcome surprise! Texture is great, sculpt as well, and it has an overal high level of quality.

Agree with Hawken about final image. Without the other images I wouldn't know that it was a crank handle. Maybe you should have use the opposite render (centre one in 3rd image). Also, (small detail crit) the cogs wouldn't work. you have fine tooth cogs meshing with chunky cogs. Getting things like that right adds to the believability of a concept.
Still very nice work though. Sculpt is great. Tom Selleck? :P
@ Stoy: Thanks man, actually i didnt ref him once just this actor a bit from the show parks and rec:
@ P442: Your totally right dude, i aimed to have the focus be on his eyes and gears a bit, then have everything else kinda blend in. But i think next time i will spend more time on defining the hair.
@ hawken/ Stinger88/Skillmister: I definitely see what your saying. I looked at ref of cogs, but not the detail on how it would realistically move. I also didn't want a boring stand for the bust, but your all right about maybe the angle of the render gives off a "baby wooden arm" look.
Thanks again to everyone for the feedback and comments!
