Low-poly cavity map?

Im working on an asset that is fairly high-poly to the point where it doesn't need a normal map. Its all cleanly unwrapped, and now I want to create a cavity map for the texture-



To clarify, I am not talking about an AO (ambien occlusion map) but rather a map that darkens valleys, and lightens peaks. Generally I would generate a cavity map based on the normal map, but since this asset doesn't have a normal map, I don't really have much to work with.


anyone have any ideas?
